Umetrics® Studio Minimum System Requirements for end users
The information in this article describes minimum requirements to run Umetrics® Studio in the browser by end users.
The Umetrics® Studio is supported on Personal Computer (desktop, laptop).
Hardware (CPU, RAM, Video Card)
Any that can run a modern internet browser listed below. There is no other software that is required to run on local machine. We recommend supplying your hardware with enough CPU, memory and internet connection for the browser to run smoothly. Here are general recommendations for minimal resources necessary for the browsers listed below:
RAM (Random Access Memory)
- Minimum: 2 GB
- Recommended: 4 GB or more for better performance, especially for running multiple tabs.
CPU (Central Processing Unit)
- Minimum: 1 GHz or faster processor
- Recommended: A modern multi-core processor (e.g., Intel i3, i5, i7, AMD Ryzen 3, 5) for better handling of multitasking and complex web applications.
Additional recommendations:
- Minimum screen resolution is 1024 * 768 pixels,
- Minimum screen size is 10 inches,
- Internet connection: Reasonably high-speed internet access is recommended.
- Graphics Processing Unit (GPU): A dedicated GPU can help, but it's not a requirement.
- Disk Space: Enough to handle the operating system, browser, and temporary files.
OS
Ideally, we recommend you use the latest operating system available for your device in your organization. This will support the most features and provide better security than earlier versions.
Operating System Considerations:
- Windows 10 and 11: Modern browsers run well on both, but Windows 11 may perform better with more recent hardware.
- Linux: Performance can vary widely depending on the distribution and desktop environment. Lightweight distributions can run efficiently on older hardware.
- Mac: Browsers are optimized for macOS, but older Macs might struggle.
Browsers
Umetrics® Studio is designed to work with the latest versions of modern web browsers. We support browsers that are up to one year old. You may still be able to access Umetrics® Studio with older browsers, but some features may not work correctly, and your overall experience could be limited or degraded.
For the best performance and security, we recommend using the most recent version of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox. You can verify browser version by displaying Settings/Information in the browser's menu.
If you notice issues with Umetrics® Studio display in your browser, please first verify if there are browser plugins activated that may interfere, such as the ones listed below and deactivate them.
- Ad Blockers (e.g., Adblock Plus, uBlock Origin): These plugins can block not just ads but also certain scripts and web requests.
- JavaScript/Script Blockers (e.g., NoScript, ScriptSafe): These extensions block JavaScript execution, which is essential for Studio functioning.
- Webpage Modification Tools (e.g., Stylish, Greasemonkey): These allow users to apply custom CSS styles or scripts to web pages.
- Security and Privacy Extensions (e.g., Ghostery, Privacy Badger): They are similar to ad blockers.
- Developer Tools (e.g., React Developer Tools, Redux DevTools).
- Browser Performance Enhancers (e.g., The Great Suspender).
- Content Management Extensions (e.g., Grammarly, LastPass): These can sometimes interact unpredictably with web forms or editable content within Studio.
By following these recommendations, you can optimize your use of Umetrics® Studio and avoid potential disruptions.
